MPA Book Festival - Volunteers Needed!!

The Book Festival needs your help!  We’re short on volunteers and in order to make family night successful, we need all areas covered.  So, we’re asking for help in the following areas on Family Night, Friday, February 2nd, from 5-8 p.m.

1. Dinner Service – supervising adults needed.  These people would direct student volunteers and oversee dinner service to make sure it doesn’t turn to chaos.  Need one adult from 6-7 p.m. and 7-8 p.m.

2. Puppet Show – supervising adults needed.  These people would supervise the student puppeteers.  Basically, you’re the adult present to make sure the shows actually take place and the rooms stay in order.  Two adults needed for each 1/2 hour show - 5:45-6:15 p.m., 6:15-6:45 p.m., 6:45-7:15 p.m., 7:15-7:45 p.m.

3. Story Teller – supervising adult needed from 7:00-7:45 p.m.  You’re the adult present to make sure the show takes place and the room stays in order.

4. Minnesota Center for the Book Arts Activities - This person is assigned to a table to work with the kids on paper crafts.  There is an “instructor” there, you just help out.  4 volunteers needed for the 7-8 p.m. shift.

5. Clean-up - Could use as many hands as possible.

6. Weekday volunteers for the Book Sale - School hours, half day shifts Tuesday-Friday.  Work at the Book Sale during school day selling books and merchandise, and help classes with wish lists.

7. Used Book Sale volunteers - Weekdays during Middle School and Lower School lunches Tuesday – Friday.

Please respond back to Lynn Berning (lynn@blberning.com) or Laura Colton (fivecoltons@comcast.net) by Monday, January 29th.  We’ll need your name, email, and volunteer preferences.

Thanks for making this year’s book festival a success!
