Cultural Fair - Friday, October 12th

Mosaic - a student-run group, dedicated to celebrating and promoting cultural and ethnic diversity

This Year marks the fifth annual Cultural Fair, an entirely student-run event aimed to highlight MPA’s cultural diversity.  Past fairs have featured Taiko drumming workshops, classical Indian dance performances, and even a multicultural fashion show.  MPA’s Cultural Fair is an explosion of good food, amazing entertainment and incredible activities, allowing students to not only catch a glimpse into the lives of their classmates, but experience a bit of what has shaped them into who they are. The 2007 Cultural Fair, themed, “Under the Same Sky,” will take place October 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..  Please save the date and join us to celebrate MPA’s cultural diversity.

The fair is organized entirely by students and participation of the entire MPA community is what makes this event so special.  Please consider if you’d like to help in any of the following ways…

 ·     Run an activity from a particular culture (calligraphy, papermaking, food preparation demonstrations, games, arts activities etc.)
·     Recommend a cultural group/speaker/artist
·     Donate a food item
·     Run a booth focused on a particular culture or ethnicity
·     Sponsor a performer, speaker or artist
·     Lend cultural artifacts for display
·     Help with set-up
·     Help with take-down/clean up
·     Help with food service on the day of the fair

If you’re interested in helping, please let us know by either returning this form to the south reception office, attention:  Hannah Sullivan (Mosaic advisor), or by emailing Jaya Stenquist (student coordinator) at jstenquist09@moundsparkacademy.org or Hanna Sullivan at hsullivan@moundsparkacademy.org.

We look forward to your participation and attendance. We are already working at making this year’s cultural fair as exiting as ever!  Thanks!
