Annie Barrows, the author of the children's series "Ivy and Bean" and Local storyteller Mike Mann will be speaking at MPA on Friday, May 16th from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.

Annie Barrows will be speaking to girls in grades 2, 3 and 4 this Friday, May 16th in the Recital Hall from 9:30-10:00 a.m. A book signing will follow until approximately 10:15 a.m. Annie lives in Northern California and is on a national book tour. Her newest book in the series is "Ivy and Bean Take Care of the Babysitter." Mike Mann will be presenting to the boys in grades 2,3 and 4 on Friday from 9:30-10:15 a.m. in the library. He'll be sharing his hilarious tales of growing up in South Minneapolis and promoting the book by Conn and Hal Iggulden called "The Dangerous Book for Boys," which encourages children to spend time away from computers, TV's, iPods and engage in the world around them.
