Meet the Panelists

 

Richard Crabb

Richard Crabb currently clerks for Judge Michael Mayer in the First District Court of Dakota County in Hastings, Minnesota, where he observes hearings, performs research, and drafts orders for family and criminal law cases. Richard is a 2007 graduate of University of St. Thomas Law School, holds a B.S. in Biology from Cornell University and is an MPA alumnus from the class of 2000. Hear Richard's behind the scenes perspective from behind the bench.

Carolyn Beck
Carolyn Beck is a first year associate at Kinney & Lange in Minneapolis, a mid-sized firm specializing in intellectual property,
where she writes and prosecutes intellectual property cases. Carolyn received her law degree in 2007 from the University of St. Thomas, earned degrees in Psychology and Neuroscience from Lawrence University in Wisconsin, and graduated from MPA in 2000. Discover how Carolyn broke into the Minnesota law scene and what it takes to survive as a first year associate.  

Chris Moseng
Chris Moseng will clerk for Judge Kevin Ross in the Minnesota Court of Appeals in August. Last summer Chris
worked at O'Connor & Thomas, P.C., the oldest general practice law firm in Iowa, but he plans on pursuing his law career in the Twin Cities. Chris received his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law this May. He is part of the Grinnell College class of 2004 and the MPA class of 1996. Find out how Chris studied law out-of-state, and the path he took to come back to Minnesota.  

Becky Wight
Becky (Hermes) Wight is an associate for Ropes & Gray LLP in Palo Alto, California. While Ropes & Gray has over 850 attorneys located throughout the county and world, Becky works within an office of 24 where she focuses on intellectual property litigation, specifically concerning pharmaceutical and electronic patent cases. Becky
is a 2007 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, holds a B.S. in Economics from Williams College in Massachusetts, and is a 1996 MPA graduate. Learn about the new and expanding field of intellectual property as it relates to big industry when Becky shares her experiences.
