Microfunding
Microfunding and Volunteer Support of Student Organizations and Clubs
The Board of the Parents Association (PA) announces an opportunity for MPA Student Organizations and Clubs to receive microfunding and/or parent volunteers for student organization or club
programs for projects which benefit MPA’s mission. Offering this program to student organizations and clubs is our new
venture in connecting MPA students with MPA families and we look forward to this collaboration.
The PA is using microfunding to provide funds to MPA student organizations and clubs who may not have access to as manyfunds as they would like to have, for a regular or new project during the school year. The PA is also offering the support of the parent community for student organizations or clubs needing more than their usual number of volunteers for a project. This PAprogram replaces the past Grant Program or the wish list previous to that.
The monies come from dues and through the fundraising activities of the PA outside of the MagazineDrive. The PA Board has set aside $2,000 for this initiative to cover the 2011-2012 school year. In the Spring of 2012, the PA Board will assess the program and budget to determine the level of the next year’s microfunding. We are fortunate to havea large number of parents from which to recruit volunteers and that will remain available each year.
Please review the program's procedure and application form. Completed applications are to be sent to the coordinator Amy Krohn (MPA parent), at ajkrohn@hotmail.com at any point during the school year. We look forward to supporting MPA's student organizations and clubs for many years ahead.
