The First Week of School

Dear Lower School Families,

Back to School night was a huge success. The level of excitement was palpable as the children found their new classrooms, and saw the completed construction from this past year. The food that Sage provided was delicious and a wonderful way for families to gather together and chat with each other. We all appreciate the time you take out of your schedule to bring your child to the Back-To-School night. It is so important that the children attend. It makes them feel comfortable on the first day and they are ready to start with their classes first thing in the morning. The first days of school have gone very well in the lower school. It is amazing to me how quickly the children adapt to the new routines. Though, I must admit, everyone looks exhausted by the end of the day.

If you are having difficulty finding the lower school menu follow these steps: Go to the MPA website, click on “mpa community”, then click on “lower school”, next click on “calendar” and then in the upper left hand corner you will see “calendar and schedules” and you click on that and then you can click on lower school menu. It is a bit complicated but it will soon become routine.

Fourth graders will be trained in conflict management on Friday, September first. They do not need to wear a uniform and if they usually take a hot lunch their lunch will be provided. It is supposed to be sunny and warm so we should have a wonderful time.

There is no school on Monday and no Panther Club is offered so enjoy the holiday with family.

The district buses will begin running on Tuesday. We will then have six buses functioning at the school. If you have not gone over the bus rules with your child as of yet, please do so and have your child return the signed sheet to their homeroom teacher. I will be looking for them in the office.

On Friday, September 8th the fourth graders will go more in depth with dealing with others when they attend a workshop in the gallery put on by a group called SOS. The workshop deals with bullying and all of its ramifications.

Thank you for entrusting your children to MPA.
