MPA Twins Night at the Dome

October has snuck up on us already, but with the beautiful weather it brings it doesn’t really register as fall quite yet.

What fun we had at the Twins’ Game. The choir did a beautiful job of singing the National Anthem. They were also really attentive during the entire pre-game….and that isn’t easy with over 40,000 people in attendance. Congratulations to them and to their parents who got them there on time and helped connect with their children when we were finished. If only the twins had won or Mauer would have at least gotten on base once. Such is life.

The first and third graders have started the hearing and screening tests. I am sure once they pass they will be much better listeners at home.

Friday morning, October 6th, from 8:30-9:45 we are having our second lower school meeting for the year. Join us to hear from our new drama teacher, Dara Dokas. Jeff Ochs, who heads the Breakthrough program, will also be explaining the workings of  Breakthrough Saint Paul.

Friday night, October 6th, is the Cultural Fair. I hope you will be in attendance. Thanks to all of you who volunteered to help and to those who encouraged their children to complete the hand of culture they received. They are looking wonderful.

Tuesday morning, October 10th, the group for parents raising children with learning differences will meet. The meeting begins at 8:30 with coffee starting at 8:15 in room 113. Parents who attend have children from K through 12th grade so it is a wonderful way to share experiences and ideas.

Thursday, October 12th, is Kindergarten Family Night.  Dinner begins at 5:30, and the evening ends at 7:30. We will start out in the cafeteria. If you have not returned your registration, please take a minute to fill it out and get it back to us. Having accurate numbers ensures that we will have enough food and help. This is another opportunity to meet the families in your child’s class and to have a chance for some guided adult discussion. It is the kick-off for 13 great years together, so please make a real effort to attend.

For security reasons the doors at the south end of the school are locked at 6:00 PM because that is when Panther Club closes. If you have an emergency and arrive after 6:00, please park in the north lot and enter the building through the north entrance. There is a night attendant at that door all evening.

Enjoy the lovely weather while it lasts.
