Some of you may be wondering what all of us faculty and staff did with our days off last week. We used the time wisely, as there is so little time for all of us to meet together. We met as a complete employee group and then just the faculty. We also met in divisions, in departments, and in Triads. We were able to meet in small and large groups to discuss things relevant to education and MPA specifically. We even had a health and wellness fair on Wednesday afternoon. We learned and shared a plethora of ideas, and days like this only make us stronger educators to serve you and your children better.
The children who came to Panther Club on Thursday and Friday certainly enjoyed themselves. The Halloween crafts were really creative, and the field trip on Friday was really exciting. Kudos to our Panther Club staff who put a lot of planning and effort into these full days.
As the weather continues to remain chilly, make sure you are sending mittens and hats with your children. We play outside at recess until the wind chill gets past ten below because we feel it is so essential for children to have fresh air and unscheduled time to play together. Make sure to send warm clothes with your children.
Monday there is no school. Panther Club is available but pre-registration is necessary. If you need another registration form you may call the office, and we will send it home with your child - or you can pick one up in the office or at Panther Club.
Tuesday is Halloween and, as I mentioned before, unless you have heard differently from your child’s teacher, your child should come to school in their uniform and bring their costume. Weapons and violent characters are not allowed, and only third and fourth graders can wear masks if they wish. The parade begins at 2:25, and we look forward to having you line the hallways to cheer us on.
Friday, November 3rd is “Best of MPA.” Make sure to come to the Town and Country Club for a fun-filled evening. It is truly a social event with no pressure to buy (if you can resist). It provides a great opportunity to meet new people and draw closer to those in your child’s grade level. I hope to see all of you there. If you haven’t checked out the online part of the auction, you should do that. I captured a few bargains myself that way.
Saturday, November 4th, is an open house at MPA. We encourage you to bring a neighbor, friend, or relative to school to stimulate interest in enrollment for next year. This is the first of two open houses that we hold and a wonderful way for you to show off the school to others.
It appears to be a busy week, but with plenty of opportunities to become part of our community. Please make sure to get involved.
