Tonight is the Kindergarten Family night. Bring your pot luck dish about 5:15, and we will set up and start eating at 5:30. Remember that the south doors are locked at 6:00 so if you arrive after that you will have to enter through the North entrance. We will be in the cafeteria.
It was fun to watch our first pairing assembly. Students were spread from the lower school all the way to the Sports Center. One group even played their games outside. It is one of the wonderful things about being in a Pre-K through 12th grade school. The children get to know students from all different grade levels. This helps form community and gets the older kids looking out for the little ones.
The cultural fair was a great success. Thanks to all the hands that went into making it work. I still am proudly wearing the decoration that was painted on my hand!
The third graders attended the play “Johnny Appleseed” this past Tuesday. They were asked to wear clothes appropriate for the theater….and boy did they! They looked terrific, behaved well and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience. It was quite exciting to travel to another state for a play. (Wisconsin)
Next week is a very special week for the children. Every grade will participate in the performance and each class has planned activities to share with their grandparents and special friends. Children who do not have a visitor are always taken care of by extra grandparents who come or a friend who has someone attending. We always make sure that children share their work with someone special. It is one of the most heartwarming days all year.
On Wednesday there is no Panther Club for the afternoon because in the past so many children have left with their grandparents or special friends that there were not enough children left for Panther Club. There will be Panther Club on Thursday and Friday and they have a myriad of fall activities planned. If you need another copy of the sign up sheet please give us a call and we will send one home with your child. The teachers at MPA do have meetings during these days that the children are off school. It is a chance for teachers to learn and plan together to further the goals of the school in new and creative ways.
Enjoy the short week next week has in store for you.
