What an exciting weekend we had last week. The Best of MPA was such a nice social event, as it is always fun to talk to people outside of the school setting. It was very well-attended this year and was extremely well-organized. I even came away with some new jewelry! Then Saturday the school hummed with excitement as we showed it off to all the new people who walked through the door for our MPA Fall Open House. When I spoke to the potential families, I talked about what a community we have at MPA. I mentioned the Halloween Parade and the Best of MPA as perfect examples. I used the Halloween Parade as an example of students supporting students and the Best of MPA as a time for parents to get to know each other. The more things you get involved in, the more comfortable you will feel at the school. Thanks to all the volunteers for both events. It does indeed take a community to raise a child.
Third Grade Parents - don’t forget the 3rd grade parent night tonight at 6:45. The entrance you are used to using is locked at 6:00, so make sure to come in the North Entrance and then proceed to the recital hall.
The Middle School play is both Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. and also Saturday afternoon at 2:00. It is a great play for the whole family, so I hope you will consider coming.
Lower School Sports Week is next week. The week centers around sports and famous athletes. Children write about this theme in class, dress as an athlete one day, and even have a Lower School roller skating party on Thursday, November 16th, after school. You will be getting more specifics from the PE department soon.
Tuesday, November 14th, is the next meeting for parents of children with learning differences. The division directors will be presenting on what their division has in place to help these children succeed.
Enjoy the last tidbits of warm, autumn weather as I hear it may not last.
