On a typical Saturday at MPA, you will see the hubbub of the Minneapolis Japanese School as it uses our facilities almost every Saturday. You might also run into parents creating a bulletin board or setting up for the Book Festival. On Saturday, February 16th, the 3rd grade Boy Scouts were here for their annual Soapbox Derby, and I was lucky enough to witness their enthusiasm. Each boy created their own race car according to a variety of rules and regulations, and on this particular Saturday they brought them into the Kreischer Gym to actually see how well they raced on the track. The excitement built as cars were eliminated and the final heats were established. Only one could come away as a winner, but all enjoyed the comradary. Everyone seemed eager to imrpove their car and return next year.
