....or at least that is what the second grade class thought.

The second graders have been working on making change, and what could make this skill more meaningful than putting on your own sale and having to make change?

Each child gathered things from home that they no longer wanted.  They decided on their own prices, constructed their own posters, and came to school ready to sell.

True to the community spirit, many adults throughout MPA stopped in to purchase something from a child and of, course, we were all careful NOT to give the exact change.  It seemed that no matter how tricky I tried to make the problem, I just could not stump these second graders. I am always amazed at how experiential our learning truly is and the creativity our teachers use to come up with meaningful lessons.
