Myths about Friday Night

“Everyone dresses really formally and it’s a very exclusive affair.”  Wrong!  This is one of the myths about the Best of MPA, our annual fall celebration.  Friday night’s event at the Town and Country Club is anything but formal.  It’s a chance to meet socially in a casual environment, have fun with friends and make new friends – all with the central theme of supporting the work our teachers do on behalf of students.

“It’s too late to register.”  Wrong again!  Of course, it really helps if we can know in advance how many people to cater for, but the most important thing is to be there.  So if you’ve only just discovered that you can attend after all, call Bry at 651.748.5530.  Reservations are flowing in, but we’ll make room for more!

And you can come just for the party, the good food and drink and excellent company, but of course, we hope you’ll want to take advantage of some great auction opportunities.  Perennial favorite “custodian for a day” is on the live auction list, as is a new item that came in just this week and is NOT in the catalogue:  “Ride with Santa in the Holidazzle Parade!”

Other live auction items include a Minnesota Wild Private Access Package with 1st period seats at the glass, 2nd period in the press box, and 3rd period in the owners box.  Winners of the Wild package will attend a morning practice and meet with star player Willie Mitchell.  Or choose from either a week in northern Spain or a week in a French villa.

By the way, if you are reading this before 10:00 p.m. Thursday, the online auction is still going on.  Click here to bid on club level tickets to the Bruce Springsteen concert, as well as great deals on memberships at a number of Twin Cities cultural organizations.  You can also peruse the extensive list of live and silent auction items on our website.

The theme this year – “now we’re cooking” – can be an inspiration for how you dress, so if you want to come as your favorite hotdish, feel free.  Dressy casual is how we’re describing suggested attire, but that certainly leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

“We should do social events like this for parents more often!”  Right!  This is one of the most commonly heard remarks after the Best of MPA every year. Don’t miss it this time around. Hope to see you Friday night!
