The theme for the Middle School Cafe is "Words."  We will have 50 titles from the Red Balloon Bookshop, used books, hot chocolate, treats, Magnetic Poetry, and chalkboard mugs for sale in a fun space designed especially for the Middle School kids.  The books were chosen for our school by our librarians, Nancy Lage and Shannon Horton, and the Red Balloon.  The cost for new books will be the retail price of the book, with 20% of all proceeds going to the MPA Library.  The cost for treats and used books will be from $.25 to $1.00.  Funds raised through the sale of treats and gift items will also go to the MPA Library.

Every Middle School student will have an opportunity to be in the Cafe during one English class with their English teacher.  Students may also visit the Cafe during recess, lunch, study hall, and advisory times with permission of the advisor.  Parents or guardians are welcome to visit the Cafe anytime during the school day.

Donuts, bagels, and cookies will be offered for sale throughout the week.  Each day will also have a featured item:  Monday--Donuts, Tuesday--Salty Treats, Wednesday--Muffins, Thursday--Fruits & Nuts, and Friday--Bagels. 

On Friday, February 2nd, we are hosting the first Middle School Pizza Party in the Cafe from 3:30-5:00 p.m.  The cost for the Pizza Party is $5.00, which includes 2 pieces of pizza and a drink.  Additional pieces of pizza ($1.00) and drinks ($.50) may be purchased in the Cafe during the party.  The party will be supervised by MPA parents.  Please plan to pick up your student at 5:00 p.m. when the party ends, or feel free to stay for the Book Festival Family Night from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria and Gallery.

We would like to know how many are planning on coming to the Pizza Party on Friday, February 2nd, so we may order the pizza!  Please drop off this form in the Middle School Office by next Tuesday, January 30th.  If you would like to donate funds for treats to the Middle School Cafe, please enclose a check or cash with your registration for the party.
