Our sixth graders traveled to the Minnesota State Capitol this week and toured the House, Senate and Governor's office area. I never cease to be amazed at our students' seriousness of purpose on this sort of event—they were quiet and well-behaved, and willingly asked questions of the various senators and representatives we met. I'd like to take credit as a school for this, but I realize it's largely how families teach their kids! Special thanks to the MPA Middle School families that helped make this possible, either through financial support, using their "in's" at the capitol, or helping to coordinate the logistics. We had a blast!
Next week is the first week of May (yikes!), and that means we're heading into concert season once again. Please be sure to take some time to look at the great artwork that our Middle Schooler students will have displayed throughout the building--the art show opens next Thursday, May 3rd just before the Middle School Vocal Concert.
One quick early-warning note--we'll have our last 7/8 dance of the year Friday, May 4 from 7-10 p.m. in the cafeteria.
