The sixth grade trip to the Audubon Center of the North Woods was fabulous! We had a wonderful combination of environmental education, challenge by choice and socialization. Our sixth grade students participated in the high ropes course, the climbing wall, wolf ecology and porcupine quilling during the day, and had birds of prey and voyageurs classes in the evening. Although the girls were rained out of the tents, they were able to take a night hike, and everyone enjoyed the s'mores. A highlight of the trip was running around in the pouring rain and working together to eliminate food waste at mealtime. That's correct, the entire sixth grade did not waste one ounce of food during lunch!
