We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, April 29, 5:30 p.m., for the opening of "Set Sail", the Lower School Music and Art Show. The music program is at 7 p.m. This special evening is set aside to celebrate and appreciate the Lower School students' year-long effort in learning and creating in the visual arts, music and movement.  

 

"Set Sail" is the theme that envelops our creative efforts and you will enjoy and experience work that expresses the sights and sounds of the sea and the people who make the sea their home. The students' art work is on display until May 11 in the Gallery and throughout the Lower School halls and outside the Cafeteria. The music performance will be staged in the Nicholson Center. 

 

Bringing the community together is an exciting way to complete the cycle of artistic expression for each student. Sharing and exhibiting our arts knowledge, skill and creativity will add value and meaning to not only the work itself but to the importance of the learning process. Noticing the quality of product shared by our budding artists and musicians, one might think that our focus was only that. Here at Mounds Park Academy, we value the process itself as a major piece of any learning endeavor. Creating both musical and visual compositions involve considerable preliminary thought, in process problem-solving, collaborating and hands on hard work.
