We started the year with a 6th grade bike trip on Tuesday, a 7/8 picnic on Friday, and a 5th grade overnight trip is just around the corner. Just like our students, our teachers don't like to sit still. The teachers at MPA value learning beyond the classroom and spend the extra time and energy it takes to make it happen.As I walked down the Middle School hallway on Tuesday, I saw a middle school teacher pump her fist in the air to celebrate a student finding success in her class. On Wednesday, a teacher was excited to call a parent because a student who didn't seem to care for her class last year excelled on Wednesday. These are just two simple examples of the care and excitement our teachers bring to the MPA Middle School every day.
I have heard many times that success creates more success. In the MPA Middle School, I believe that terrific teaching and learning leads to more extraordinary teaching and learning.
I would like to thank all of you for a great start to the 2010-2011 school year. I would also encourage you to walk through the MPA Middle School and thank our amazing teachers for all that extra time and effort it takes to be extraordinary.
