Next week, MPA's gallery space will transform into a winter wonderland of books during the annual Book Festival week.  The theme this year is "A Winter Wonderland," and the students will have a chance to display snow globes, create snow sculptures, and visit the book displays during school.  Family Night on Friday, February 29th, is the culminating event with dinner, crafts, book sale, and speaker Ann Bancroft.  All proceeds from the book sale and festival activities go directly to the library.  This is an event sponsored by the Parents Association and run completely by volunteers.  With that in mind, the Book Festival Committee needs your help!  Please commit to volunteering for one of the following positions.  Respond via email to Jonathan Akers at Jonathan.Akers@comcast.net with your date, time, and volunteer job preference.

Book Festival Set-up:  Set up books and help decorate the gallery for BF week.

Saturday, February 23rd, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Book Sale in Gallery:  Assist teachers with wish list, help classes as they visit the book sale, ring sales, make change (this may be helpful in choosing your shift)

Monday 2/25, Tuesday 2/26, Wednesday 2/27, Thursday 2/28, Friday 2/29

     Two shifts: 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or 12:00 - 3:30 p.m.

Monday - Grade 4 visits in morning

Wednesday - Peterson's Kindergarten visit in morning and 1st grade visits in

     afternoon

Thursday - Grade 2 in morning and Grade 3 in afternoon.

Friday - Found's Kindergarten in morning

Used Book Sale:  Assist students in choosing a book from the used book cart during LS lunch, make change, organize cart

Monday 2/25, Tuesday 2/26, Wednesday 2/27, Thursday 2/28, Friday 2/29

     One shift: 11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Book Festival Family Night

Friday, February 29th, 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

We need volunteers to supervise crafts and games, help with registration, and supervise with speaker.   Please specify where you would like to volunteer when responding.

Book Festival Family Night Clean-up:  Pack books and general clean up after fun ends.

Friday, February 29th, 8:30 - 10:00 p.m.
