The strategic planning process has given us the opportunity to study, review and reaffirm Mounds Park Academy’s mission and values, and to build on those hallmarks of an MPA education—a rigorous and relevant academic curriculum with a wide variety of athletic, creative and service opportunities that will prepare our students for college and beyond. We endorsed a plan that continues to offer those founding characteristics that make MPA an exceptional place for students: an intimate community in which every child is known, many opportunities to experiment and excel in a spirit of cooperation, collaboration and openness to different models of success.
Our program will adapt to meet the changing landscape of skills our students need to be successful in a world ever more complex. We are committed to offering the most meaningful and authentic ways to learn about the world, exposing our students to a variety of perspectives. Our curriculum will prepare our students to be independent thinkers, effective communicators, and ethical, responsible world citizens, engaged and involved in their own learning. Sound research and dynamic programmatic innovation will drive the evolving curriculum, coupled with the technological infrastructure to support the competency required of our graduates.
Improving the MPA facilities will enrich student, employee and visitor experiences and allow our dynamic and evolving programs to thrive. We are committed to environmentally sensitive and technologically progressive facility enhancements, and to providing secure, aesthetically pleasing and adaptable spaces for our school programs.
This strategic plan allows us to build on our school’s strengths and mission while imagining a new, focused and exciting future. The revitalized mission and values remain the guiding principles that direct us into the next phase of Mounds Park Academy’s growth as an educational leader.
