Goal

Provide and direct the resources—human, financial, infrastructure and community—as the school moves from its founding years to a fully resourced, comprehensively equipped educational innovator and leader. We will plan for a facility that supports a wide range of learning environments, from the classrooms to the athletic fields, and for programmatic enhancements that expand the school experience. We must develop an excellent compensation/benefits and professional development package that supports the current and attracts the next talented faculty, staff and administration. Resources must be directed to attract and retain a student body of diverse backgrounds, talents and interests, so that our community perspectives are representative of the larger world. Long-term financial stability must be strengthened by evaluating the appropriate school size and by examining a new tuition pricing model that mirrors our mission and the composition of the MPA family. Growing the endowment by strengthening development efforts and broadening non-tuition revenue capabilities will relieve some of the pressure on tuition in future years.

Rationale

Moving beyond the founding phase in the school’s development requires an expansive vision of what the school can achieve if fully funded. This is a recommitment to the founding principles of the school: taking calculated risks, envisioning excellence and reaching full potential. We are committed to developing a flexible, resourceful and responsive approach to manage the resources that fund our program, including tuition income, auxiliary programs, planned giving, capital campaigns, grants and community resources. We commit to finding ways to offer students and families the ability to afford an MPA education, and to make MPA the school of choice for the most qualified students, families and employees in a competitive marketplace. Expanding the expectations and results of our annual and capital building campaigns will require a commitment from our community to support MPA as it reaches its potential as an extraordinary educational experience offering a meaningful and innovative academic program in a superior facility.
