Give to the Max Day

November 13, 2014

What: Give to the Max Day was created in 2009 to launch GiveMN, a collaborative venture led by Minnesota Community Foundation and many other organizations. Since the initial event which raised $14 million, Give to the Max Day has become an annual tradition. Last year Give to the Max Day raised $17 million!

* There is a percentage taken for every donation—just like any credit card transaction — that constitutes GiveMN’s transaction fee. The fee is strictly for processing the credit cards and GiveMN in no way profits from that fee.

Why: Give to the Max Day generates excitement and enthusiasm throughout MN for philanthropy. As a statewide program it is a fantastic opportunity to motivate our donors to give with the momentum of an established and well-known giving event. The competition of the leaderboards and the chance to snag a Golden Ticket are added incentives and it encourages all within our community to give at whatever level they are able.

What We Need: There is a chance to win a Golden Ticket every hour for the whole 24 hours—so we need people to be set up to donate during specific times for the best chance to win. Golden Tickets are drawn from the pool of those who donated at any amount within that hour and will give an organization an additional $2000. At the end of the 24 hours a final ticket is drawn from the entire pool of donors for an additional $20,000.

When: November 13th — the event runs from 12 AM to 11:59 PM.

Where: Donate from anywhere! Just head to the MPA Give MN website: https://givemn.org/organization/Mounds-Park-Academy

Goals: Last year we raised $50,000. Our goal is to top that this year!

Head of School Challenge: Every year Give to the Max Day helps to raise the profiles of schools participating by creating a fun challenge for the Heads of School. This year, GiveMN is daring Minnesota heads of schools to join them at the Mall of America and ride its newest attraction — the zip line — while wearing costumes designed by the students. Dr. Bill Hudson’s will be participating at 11 AM.
