You can make a gift of stock or securities.

Gifts of appreciated stock can provide support for the school and offer donors significant tax benefits. Donors receive a tax deduction for the full fair-market value of the securities, while reducing or possibly avoiding capital gain taxes.

(Note: To qualify for this double tax benefit, the securities must have been held for more than one year.)
