All-State Ensemble Program on February 16th

Beth Larson (bassoon), Hannah Turpin (clarinet), Karl Berget (percussion), and Soren Larson (tenor sax) were selected through audition to participate in Minnesota’s 2006-2007 All-State Ensemble Program and will be performing this week in conjunction with the MMEA Midwinter In-Service Clinic. Soren will be performing with the All-State Jazz Band on Friday, February 16th, at 11:15 a.m. in the Minneapolis Convention Center Ballroom, while Beth, Hannah, and Karl will be performing at Orchestra Hall on Saturday, February 16th, at 2:00 p.m.

All four spent six days at summer camps held at colleges and universities throughout Minnesota. Hannah and Beth, members of the Symphonic Band, and Soren, a member of the Jazz Ensemble, attended camp at St. Cloud State University. Karl attended the All-State Orchestra Camp at St. Olaf College. The conductors for their All-State ensembles were Andrew Boysen from University of New Hampshire (Symphonic Band), James Carlson from University of Minnesota Morris (Jazz Ensemble), and Steve Amundsen from St. Olaf College (Orchestra).
