Joint Concert with Oratorio Society of MN - May 11th

As many of you have heard, the MPA Concert Choir is giving a performance this Friday with the Oratorio Society of MN.  The concert is at First Lutheran Church of Columbia Heights at 7:30 p.m.  We will start the evening with Ron Nelson’s “Fanfare for a Festival,” a celebratory piece enhanced by pipe organ and a beautiful acoustic!  Our next song is the popular Irish tune “Dulaman,” followed by a little Brahms, and then we take a musical journey through the tropical rainforest.  A poignant piece by local composer Elizabeth Alexander serves as our joint venture.  After this, you will hear the Oratorio Society and their Chamber Choir sing a variety of selections by composers such as Saint-Saens, Boulanger, Part, Carol Barnett, and many others.

The Oratorio Society of MN has decided that, in addition to the discount they have already extended to MPA ($12–adults and $9–students), they would offer a Buy-One-Get-One opportunity.  What this means is that every person who holds a ticket may bring into the sanctuary one “guest” free of charge, as long as that person accompanies them into the sanctuary.  They normally would not “double up” deals like this, but they feel it is the least they can do for the MPA audience community.  Their hope is that of the 20 families that have already purchased tickets, many will decide to invite grandma or grandpa or a neighbor.  As far as we are concerned, the bigger the audience the better!

The Buy-One-Get-One also applies to tickets ordered today, tomorrow, and all the way up to at the door.  (The “guest” MUST enter with the ticketed patron.)   For tickets, contact jhabermann@moundsparkacademy.org.  Questions can be directed to the Oratorio Society’s Assistant Director, Greg Douma, at 952.431.8953.

Hope to see you at the concert!
