Last week, Mrs. Muriel Seltz (grandmother of 9th grade students Hannah Arsenault and Mason Ferlic) visited Ms. Buck's Beginning Ceramics class to show the students an original piece of Maria Martinez pottery.  Maria Martinez is a Native American potter known for her hand-built blackware pottery.  The students have studied her work in conjunction with learning similar construction techniques for building their own pots.  This was a lovely follow up to our previous guest and again added to the student's knowledge of real life experiences that enhance classroom learning.
