Congratulations to our National Merit Semifinalists

Congratulations to our National Merit Semifinalists Bert Hilke, Marian Messing, and Michael Wineman. These three seniors will have an opportunity to continue in the Merit Scholarship competition by meeting a number of additional requirements and advancing to Finalist standing.  In addition, the following students have been named as Commended Students in the 2007 National Merit Program: Eric Bailey, Patty Dana, Kerry Herman, Michelle Hesterberg, Carly Ho, Cameron Montour, Katharine Richardson, Sam Simpson, and Lauren Smilanich.  These students are being recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the PSAT qualifying test.

A special note to parents of sophomores and juniors:
The PSAT will be administered at MPA to all sophomores and juniors on Wednesday morning, October 18. The test begins at 8:30 a.m. -- please be certain that your son/daughter arrives at school on time.  All students are required to bring their own pencils and calculators to the test.  In order to help prepare students for the test, our college counseling department met with all the students this week in their science classes.  Everyone received a helpful Official Student Guide to the PSAT and a sample practice test.  If you have any questions about the PSAT, please contact our Director of College Counseling Phil Trout.

Senior Performances:  Wednesday, October 11 at 12:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall.
