Congratulations to our Girls State Tennis champs!

Congratulations to our Girls State Tennis champs! In the Individual State Tennis Tournament, Brenna Kelly in singles and the team of Beth Larson and Amber Washington in doubles finished first. They are the first individual State Champions in tennis for MPA!

Over the next few weeks we will highlight various Upper School policies. These policies can also be found on our website.

Alcohol, drugs, and tobacco policy:

When a student is found to be under the influence or in possession of alcohol and/or other drugs, or there are reasonable grounds to suspect that a student is under the influence, the Division Director should be notified. At minimum, consequences for the first offense will include a conference with appropriate parties, a chemical use assessment, counseling arranged by the school psychologist, Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) penalties, and a two-day suspension. A second violation will result in permanent expulsion from MPA and additional MSHSL penalties. If a student is involved in transfer of alcohol or other drugs at school or at a school-sponsored activity, the student will be permanently expelled from MPA. The transfer will be reported to the police. If a student is dishonest about having possessed, used or come to school under the influence of drugs, the student will fact immediate expulsion. Next week: MSHSL rules.

I would like to invite all 9th grade parents to a meeting before the US Vocal Concert on Thursday, November 16. The Student Council is collecting coats (children and teen sizes), boots, hats, mittens, scarves, and snow pants for students at Hayden Heights Elementary School. You can bring your donations to the Upper School Office.
