Snacks and refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., hosted by Phil Trout and Julie Endersbe in the College Counseling office. The featured speaker for the evening will be Mr. Tom Willoughby, Vice Chancellor for Enrollment at the University of Denver. He will share a national perspective on college admission and offer tips and advice to parents. With over 25 years in college admission, Mr. Willoughby brings a wealth of experience and resources -- and he's an engaging speaker!! Parents will be introduced to Family Connection, a web-based college counseling program that MPA students and parents will use throughout the college search process. Note: This program is for parents only. Separate meetings will be held in January with the juniors, in advance of their individual appointments with Mr. Trout, which begin in February.
All sophomores received their PLAN test score results this week on Wednesday and Thursday in their biology classes. The PLAN, which the students took on December 1st, serves as a practice test for the ACT, and it also includes a significant career counseling component. In addition to their score report and career assessment, students received their test booklet. All students are encouraged to review their performance in each of the four sections of the test: English, mathematics, reading, and science. Parents are encouraged to contact Mr. Trout with any questions or concerns at 651.748.5520.
