They work extremely hard, support one another, and strive to learn all they can. And through it all, there is a smile, a song, a hug, a laugh &#8230; JOY!<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does MPA nurture students who forever dream big and do right?<\/strong><br \/>\nMPA teachers and staff don\u2019t shy away from tough issues, instead posing them as discussion topics and guiding students in thinking through them critically and empathetically to arrive at conscientious, thoughtful opinions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you have worked at another school, how has your experience at MPA been different?<\/strong><br \/>\nAgain, I\u2019d have to say the sheer amount of JOY in the building. When I came for my initial interview, the feeling was palpable\u2014evident in every classroom and around every corner\u2014and it continues to amaze me five years later, every time I walk through the doors.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>What would you tell a parent considering MPA?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe students, families, teachers, and staff work tirelessly everyday to become better people, broaden their minds, treat one another well, and learn how to leave a good footprint in their world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In what ways are you preparing students for life in the 21st century?<\/strong><br \/>\nI try to help the international students consider other perspectives and viewpoints with an open-mind, a questioning sense of wonder, and empathetic heart. As my students continue to travel the world, I want them to be able to navigate various cultures, languages, and relationships in a respectful manner, being able to communicate thoughtfully and effectively along the way.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mounds Park Academy, a PreK-12 private school in Saint Paul, is currently accepting applications for the 2019-20 school year.
