Competencies are far more than academic benchmarks\u2014at MPA, they encompass critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and emotional intelligence, all crucial for thriving in today\u2019s world.<\/p>\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moundsparkacademy.org\/about-mpa\/\">nine competencies<\/a> were thoughtfully developed by blending <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moundsparkacademy.org\/about-mpa\/mission-values.shtml\">MPA&#8217;s core values<\/a> with a research-backed understanding of what students need to succeed in today\u2019s world\u2014and tomorrow\u2019s. These competencies and their associated skills shape projects and tasks as well as the design of assessments. <strong>They help us focus on not just what students know, but what they can do.<\/strong> Crucial core content and disciplinary skills are integrated with cross-cutting competency skills, helping students take ownership of their learning while developing skills that colleges, employers, and researchers agree are necessary for living successful, fulfilling lives.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This personalized approach provides clear growth pathways, allowing students to progress at their own pace while honing their individual strengths, helping nurture a growth mindset that encourages resilience, continuous improvement, and a passion for lifelong learning. MPA graduates are equipped with the skills they need to navigate complex problems, collaborate effectively, and lead with confidence in any environment.<\/p>\n<p>MPA&#8217;s competency-based approach ensures learning is personalized, equitable, and built around each learner\u2019s potential.
