MPA\u2019s Board of Trustees is a self-generative body of about 18\u201322 trustees, each of whom serves up to two 3-year terms. The Governance Committee of the Board solicits, evaluates, interviews, and recommends to the full Board, for its consideration, potential candidates to serve as trustees.<\/p>\n
Over the upcoming weeks, the Board’s Governance Committee is commencing its annual process of identifying, evaluating, and interviewing a slate of potential trustee candidates. Candidates will be presented to the full Board at its May meeting, and candidates who are selected to serve will begin their first 3-year term\u00a0in July 2018.<\/p>\n
The Board will be seeking trustees with\u00a0strong\u00a0leadership skills, collaborative styles and MPA\u00a0involvement, with the common goal of crafting an overall Board that collectively reflects MPA\u2019s broad diversity of experience and backgrounds. The areas of desired experience in future trustees may include: finance, accounting, investment, banking, business, communications, education, law, governance, scientific training,\u00a0the\u00a0arts, IT, human resources,\u00a0strategic planning, development, marketing, and community service, among others.<\/p>\n
If you know of someone (including\u00a0yourself) whom you\u00a0believe\u00a0could be a strong contributor and\u00a0should\u00a0be\u00a0evaluated\u00a0by the Board of Trustees\u2019 Governance Committee,\u00a0please\u00a0provide the name of that person\u00a0and a short description of attributes\u00a0directly\u00a0to Beth Finch<\/a>, MPA Governance Committee Chair.
