Tri-Metro Championship

The cool mist did not obscure some bright performances!

Kethan led off the fireworks in the junior high race. He was told to run with the leaders. It was a good thing he ignored those instructions, or he would have had to run slower! As it was, he won the boys race by 10 seconds, running almost 20 seconds faster than he did in August.

Mason led the boys varsity effort, chasing the big dogs all the way, finishing 3rd, earning a medal, and setting a new school record. After the race he said he could have run faster. Doh! Pete ran his best time of the year to earn a medal. Dylan ran close to his best time. Erik ran a personal best. And Chris used his new red shoes to rocket to a new personal best time!

Trevor and Alex added their own personal best times, while Benjamin, Andrew, and Colton ran their best ever times at Battle Creek.

Kristen led the girls on the now very middy course. Suzie ran well enough to earn herself all conference honorable mention. Louise ran despite having the plague. Well, it was a cold, but a really nasty cold.

Now we begin our taper towards the section meet next week. Several of you will have a shot at continuing on to the state meet. But that will not come easily. Many of the runners you will compete against ran very well today. So you will need to raise the intensity a couple of notches!

Complete results for the boys and girls can be found at Direct Athletics.
