Welcome home! Mounds Park Academy is proud to consider applications for mid-year transfer students in all grades, on a space available basis. Students seek out mid-year transfers for many reasons including corporate relocations, school closings, bullying, and the need for more academic challenge or support. With any mid-year transfer, there are many moving parts as students transition their academic lives somewhere new, and often on short notice. Finding a welcoming school community is one of the most important factors in a successful transition process and you've found that at MPA.
For mid-year applicants, MPA is a particularly welcoming new home in the midst of a challenging situation. Mounds Park Academy has become a popular destination for students transferring mid-year because of our close knit, warm community, small class sizes, and our strong values of inclusiveness and open discourse. MPA is home to numerous students from across the Twin Cities who have done mid-year transfers at some point in the school year.
Mid-year applicants may be unfamiliar with the unique culture at each of the Twin Cities independent schools, and therefore it can be difficult to truly get a sense of which school or schools will offer the best fit for their children. At MPA, applicants may find that perusing our social media pages helps overcome this sense of unfamiliarity. MPA’s social media provides a sense of our community’s culture of inclusivity and welcoming disposition. From capturing the Homecoming Pep Rally on Facebook, to documenting our annual senior walk on YouTube, to reporting athletics stories and scores via Twitter, to promoting student voice with Instagram takeovers, MPA’s social media tells our story and helps families to understand the warm and diverse environment on our PreK-12 campus. We look forward to helping your family find the right school community and making your mid-year transfer as smooth as possible.
