From classroom conversations to the stories, music, food, and traditions our community shared, it was a joy to see so many students and families take part. As we move into November, I’m excited to honor Indigenous Heritage Month and to learn about and celebrate the histories, cultures, and ongoing contributions of Indigenous peoples, including the Dakota and Ojibwe communities whose homelands we live and learn on here in Minnesota. |

Save the Date: Quarterly Family Forums
Our Quarterly Family Forums are a chance for families to connect with one another and with me, hear updates on our DEIB work at MPA, and share ideas, questions, and feedback that help shape how we build belonging across our school. All families are welcome.
All forums run from 8:15-9:15 AM in the Library:
- Tuesday, November 10
- Tuesday, February 2
- Friday, April 16
Affinity Groups Coming Soon
I’m excited to share that three new parent/family affinity groups will launch in late November or early December:
- Rainbow Club
- Neurodiversity Parent Group
- BIPOC Parent Group
Affinity groups offer a space for community members with shared identities or experiences to connect, support one another, and celebrate together. More details on meeting times are coming soon!

As we plan events and gatherings, please consider completing our Creating an Inclusive Calendar form. It highlights cultural and religious observances throughout the year so we can be thoughtful about scheduling and make sure every member of our community can fully take part.
