Despite brutal weather conditions, with temperatures in the mid-30s and windchills below freezing, you earned four all conference awards and three honorable mention awards, and the boys team finished a close runner-up to 7th ranked Minnehaha Academy!

Despite the frigid conditions, our runners were not intimidated. In fact, they were singing Jingle Bells to welcome the wintery weather!

Our middle school boys got the snowball rolling. Ben ran his best time on this course to finish 2nd and earn a t-shirt. Eddie ran well to finish 6th. Then came the parade of Henry’s, with Henry G., Henry F., and Henry Sch. finishing in order. Sean ran well in this shorter distance. And Eilam finished his second cross country race.

Our varsity girls took on some talented runners and teams. Margo ran with the leader, finishing 2nd and earning all conference honors. Katie ran her personal best to finish 5th and earn all conference honors. Emily B. ran well, just a few seconds away from earning honorable mention honors. Cara ran just a second off her personal best (run on a much easier course on a much nicer day). Ellie was our 5th runner, wrapping up the scoring for the girls. Skylar was not far behind.

Izzy G. continued to run well, recording her best time on this course. Emily W. was not far behind Izzy. Mari ran her best time on this course and not far off her personal best time. Salma improved her best time on a challenging course.

The girls team earned 4th place honors for their work.

Our varsity boys took on 7th ranked Minnehaha. Henry and Matthew ran with their top runner for much of the race, but took the lead during the second loop and finished 1st and 2nd with personal best times. They moved up to 4th and 5th best all time for their efforts, with only legendary names like Ferlic and Dahlberg ahead of them on that list!

Peter continued his streak of personal bests, taking another 7 seconds off his previous best to finish 11th as our 3rd runner. Henry P. was just behind him. And Cullen was just a second behind Henry. All three boys earned honorable mention honors for their hard work.

Evan ran his best on this course. Aneesh smiled his way to run just a few seconds off his best time on this course. Louis ran his best on this course, not far behind Aneesh. Dylan was just a couple strides behind Louis. Noah wrapped things up for the Panthers with a big personal best effort.

The boys team finished 2nd to 7th ranked Minnehaha Academy by just 6 points. A splendid effort on a tough day.

Next up in two weeks is our section meet, to determine who will advance to the state meet in early November. We have a lot of work to do between now and then.

Results are available at Gopher State Events for the boys middle school, girls varsity, girls junior varsity, boys varsity, and boys junior varsity.
