How many years have you been at MPA?

This is my first year.

What do you love about MPA?

MPA has an incredible staff dedicated to the mission of the school. The family-feel culture and inclusivity of MPA was something I wanted to be a part of and is something very important to me. I love the fact that I started my position mid-year but immediately felt that welcoming and supportive environment.

How does MPA inspire students who dream big and do right?

It is all about the environment created by our teachers. We teach our students to take ownership of their work and ideas through support and guidance. However, teaching to the whole student is the most important part of what we do. We like to say we inspire our students but many times our students inspire us.

If you have worked at another school, how has your experience at MPA been different?

It is encouraging and uplifting to be a part of a school that truly follows its mission and knows who they are and what they bring to the community. More often than not, schools and/or districts say one thing but do another. That is not the case here at MPA.

What would you tell a parent considering MPA?

We used to be the best kept secret in the East metro but not anymore. We’ve done too many good things and have done things right for too many years to go unnoticed. Come be a part of the MPA community. All are welcomed here.

In what ways are you preparing students for life in the 21st century?

Being the Academic Technology Integrationist, my role specifically helps teachers integrate the technologies and ed tech tools of the moment to ensure the development of 21st century skills.

What do you hope for MPA students in 20 years?

I hope our students in 20 years have become successful and ideal citizens who contribute to our world in a positive way. I hope they become influencers in their field, and one day will become the figures we cover in our own curriculum 20 years down the road.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your MPA experience?

MPA has an impressive and beautiful campus to go along with incredible educators who truly Dream Big and Do Right.
