Playing football for the MPA/SPA co-op team, Adam Frudden ’08 formed lifelong friendships and honed a strong work ethic that served him well far beyond the gridiron.

“I was surrounded with positive mentors who taught me about sports and life,” said Frudden. “My athletic experiences at MPA prepared me for college athletics by fostering a love for sports and creating an understanding of the commitment necessary to be successful.”

Frudden starred at linebacker and fullback, and was a four time letter winner, earning Tri Metro all-conference honorable mention in 2008. He served as team captain as a senior.

Frudden also earned a name for himself as a decorated basketball player for the Panthers. In 2008, he was honored with the Panther Award, given to the top athlete at Mounds Park Academy.

In addition to athletics, Frudden’s acrylic painting was accepted into the prestigious Shattuck-St. Mary’s Invitational Art Exhibition in 2007.

After graduating from MPA, the 6’1 Frudden played college football for Division III Dennison University in Granville, OH. A sophomore in 2009, he finished third on the team in tackles. Then In 2010, as a junior, he garnered North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors after Denison’s 21-6 victory over rival Ohio Wesleyan University. In that game, Frudden made several critical plays, including a touchdown saving tackle. Frudden recorded a game high 11 tackles and a sack. As a senior in 2011, he led the Big Red in tackles. He earned a letter in all four years at Dennison.

Frudden’s Dennison career culminated with an induction into the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society in 2012, one of a select few college football players enshrined into the honor society each year.

Even after a fruitful college football career, Frudden still finds tremendous joy in memories from his playing days at Mounds Park Academy. Nothing tops his memory from a basketball game in February 2008. “Sports were the source of endless amazing memories,” he says. “My favorite MPA memory was beating rival Saint Paul Academy at their spirit night my senior year on (teammate) Matt Miller’s epic buzzer beater.”
