Frances Martin '23Meet Frances, who will be beginning her third and senior year at MPA this fall.

What do you love about MPA?
I love how invested the teachers are in every student’s success! My teachers all clearly love what they do and find ways to make the material we learn about interesting. They make sure that every student is supported so they can learn and grow.

Why do you believe your teachers teach the way they do?
I believe they teach the way they do because they all love what they teach and want their students to have a positive experience with the material as well.

If you have attended another school, how has your experience here been different?
I think the fact that MPA is such a small school really allows for much more attention from teachers than at a larger school. At MPA, I always feel like I can go to my teachers when I need help.

How are you encouraged to dream big and do right at MPA?
I have been encouraged in my time at MPA to try new things and pursue new passions. There is always so much support from peers and teachers to try new things. This has allowed me to find some of my new favorite activities and interests.

In what ways has MPA prepared you for life beyond school?
MPA has given me opportunities to take on leadership roles in areas that I am passionate about. This has allowed me to practice juggling responsibilities, as well as advocating for myself and others.

What’s your big dream?
I hope to continue to find things that spark my curiosity and that I can be passionate about. I want to make sure that I am constantly challenged and able to help others in whatever I do.

What would you tell another student your age considering MPA?
I would tell them that MPA is a very supportive community, but one that also pushes you to constantly improve and better yourself.
