The calendar year is drawing to a close and the holiday season is kicking into full swing! It feels like the perfect moment to reflect on an eventful year and look forward to everything 2026 will bring.

The diverse strengths of MPA students shone brightly throughout 2025. The debate team’s strong showing at the Classic State Debate Festival, the qualification of several athletes for fall state tournaments, including the boys soccer team, and the selection of multiple musicians for honor band and honor choir showcased the excellence of MPA students in and out of the classroom.

Strong alumni engagement and participation were also highlights for 2025. The alumni association board is incredibly grateful for the myriad ways alums have given back.

Whether through mentoring current seniors, volunteering their time at Homecoming and other events, or donating to the successful Fall Campaign—the MPA faculty even welcomed several new alumni as teachers or coaches this year, reinforcing the bonds that tie us back to MPA.

The winter holidays also mark a time to reconnect with friends and family. If your travels bring you back to Minnesota in December or January, consider participating in one of several upcoming alumni events. The Madrigal Singers will host their annual caroling on December 19 at 7:30 AM, the Alumni Basketball Scrimmage will take place on December 26 from 1-3 PM, and an alumni meet and greet with the Class of 2026 will be held on January 9. Each will offer a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with classmates, reminisce on shared memories, and see what’s new on campus.

During our December meeting, the alumni association board had the honor of hosting Dr. Lori-Anne Brogdon, who officially started as the head of school this fall. Dr. Lori-Anne Brogdon shared her compelling vision for the future of MPA, with a long-range goal to respect the founding mission of the school while continuing to evolve to meet the dynamic needs of students and the community as a whole. Hearing her enthusiasm and drive, it is clear that MPA rests in capable and inspiring hands.

Looking ahead to 2026, there is a collective sense of excitement and growth, with many opportunities to further strengthen the legacy of MPA and the alumni community.

On behalf of the alumni association board, have a wonderful holiday—we hope to see you on campus soon!
